Violent Femmes

The Violent Femmes formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1980. They are the band that really originated the sound of Folk Punk. If you have never listened to the Violent Femmes buy their album add it up. You might recognize songs such as "Blister in the Sun" and Gone Daddy Gone" but they have so much more to offer. The Violent Femmes really capture the feeling of teenage angst and the frustrations of growing up in a conformist community. Some songs are fun, some disturbing, and some psychedelic. I'm sure there was some LSD coursing through the minds of the writers. Buy the album and you won't be disappointed.
